I'm looking for a good zoom lense camera $100-$200 and under. Anyone know where i can get one?

I have bought used zoom cameras on eBay. I've bought them as cheap as 20 bucks for a "Minolta Action Zoom" with a 38-80mm auto-focus lens. You can also find them with longer range zooms at higher prices, but still less than $100. I don't know how true this is with other brands because I only deal with Minoltas. Try sticking with camera brands or a good aftermarket brand like Tamron. Price will vary according to the focal length and speed you want. You can normally find a 28-80mm f3.5-4.5 for under $100 in mint condition. I've bought several for less than 40 bucks. I have a Tamron 28-200mm lens on a Minolta Maxxum that I bought from KEH camera for around 100 bucks, used in mint condition. KEH is a good online retailer to find good used equipment at great prices.

What type? If you're talking automatic point-and-shoot you can probably find one almost anywhere. As far as "good" point and shoots for under $100--the pickings are slim. The Olympus Stylus Epic (non-zoom) is an excellent camera; it will cost $80-$90. The Stylus Epic Zoom 80 with 38-80mm lens will cost about $130. Both of these are excellent cameras—real bargains; they have good exposure systems, decent focusing systems, and generally high ratings for owners/users and photography magazines.

Any number of decent cameras can be found for under above. I recommended going to your local camera store and just trying a few out until one seems to feel right.

Also, you might want to go to your local newsstand and pick up this months Popular Photography. (In which they rate a number of p+s cameras.) I hope this helps! Good luck with your search.

(PS: if you were asking about a SLR with a zoom lens...they can't be found for less than 150.) -- Bryan

Olympus IS-20--check the ebay listings--you can surely get a new one for what you want to pay. Good glass--28mm to 110mm lens in SLR format for under $200. If you want to pay a little more go with the Olympus IS-3 with a 35mm to 180mm lens, and even sharper ED lens.
