NO, You don't need a screw mount. You need a "K" mount. I'd look at fixed focal length lenses on e-bay. They are generaly sharper than zooms and cheaper also. The Pentax ME and ME Super are very good small 35mm cameras. The MX is even better than those two.
Just my opinion and many test in the real world.
