My Sony CCD TR-600 Handycam is apparently having difficulties with audio. I was trying to get sound during playback and realized there was no sound. Switched to older tapes that previously I had heard sound from, and still no sound. Tried using headphones plugged into the camera directly - still no sound. Video quality is still great. Have switched the menu from Stereo to 1 to 2 and it made no difference. Swapped out the RCA patch cables as well. Tried it on two TV's and a computer with Audio and Video inputs - still nothing. This is a new problem on an old camera.
Is there a way to do some kind of general reset on these? Would a cleaning cassette help?
