This is a camera my daughter has a great time with. Over the last while the battery has been a problem in that it will not always charge. Batteries for these cameras are hard to find.
The problem seemed to coincide with how much the battery was discharged and when the charger was plugged in the charge cycle would not start. I thought that the charger itself may be at fault so I took it apart and tested the wires in and out for continuinty and found they were fine. On closer inspection of the plug that enters the camera I found the design is bad and there are only 2 contact areas that complete the circuit. What happened with my camera was the 2 contacts needed to be rebent to insure there were touching the center pin in the camera. You will find a straight pin works great for this fix.
The battery is fine and charges fully and reliably. I hope someone else can use this information or adapt some of it into trouble shooting their camera problems.
