NOT REALIZING THE FIASCO THAT MYSTIC COLOR LAB HAS BEOME, I mailed a roll of film in to be developed and have 2 extra sets of prints made. I had no idea Mystic had such terrible service. It used to be tremendous. The customer service people are malcontents. I mailed the film, with accompanying check, on May the 5th. I called on May the 10th and asked when I would receive the prints. They said they were in the process of being developed. AND THEY INFORMED ME NOT SO PLEASANTLY THAT I COULD LOOK UP THE ORDER STATUS ON MY WEB. So I did. To my chagrin, they never heard of me. This is after ten years or more of doing business with them. Finally, after a few Emails went flying back and forth, It was posted that the order had been received on May the FOURTEENTH. That is 9 days for a piece of mail to go from Santa Barbara California to Maryland, it used to be Connecticut. I thought that the pony express had been discontinued. It is the seventeenth of May today. That makes it 12 days since I mailed it in. I was told today that "IF ALL GOES WELL, IT SHOULD BE MAILED ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY." That means it should reach the Pacific Ocean about May 23rd, it isn't mailed first class. Eighteen days to have a roll of film developed. I could have taken it to one of the drug stores in town and had it developed while I had lunch. AND FOR LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE THAT MYSTIC COLOR LAB CHARGES. If this is "good service" I wonder just what in the H "bad service" looks like.
