: Hi all
: This is the first time I’ve contacted this forum in fact I only found the web site the other day.
: I would like some advice re a project that I am about to start. I have about 8500ft of 8m/m cine film that I want to get on to my PC then hopefully on to CD.
: I’m using an Elmo projector, a Kewmode Image Transfer Box into my Hitachi integrated camera/video recorder. I have to focus the movie on to a ground glass screen then to an internal mirror then through a lens into the camera.
: I’ve tried always but I can’t get the dam thing to get into crisp focus, the instructions that came with the box aren’t very helpful either.
: A RF converter came with the camera but it’s a pig to find a channel and when I do it wont hold it.
: Does anyone have a similar set up? And if so what results are they getting and how, does anyone have any suggestions as to any other way to do the job. I have had some fair results using the camera as it should be i.e. up on the shoulder, but I find that if the shot is a pan shot I tend to follow and end up out shot!!.
: I would be pleased to hear from anyone, you can mail me direct at gracious1@onetel.net.uk

Im somewhat new to this and I am looking for suggestions to transfer 8mm film into my pc.I've read about many ways but the focus or clear pic problem seems to persist with most methods. I think the only way to get a clear pic is to use a photo scanner which will scan each frame from film or negative into a digital file. The pictures or frames are perfect quality or the same as the image on the film. Once captured the film can be edited and cleaned up to a very high quality. The frame rate in the digital file can be increased which will produce a very high qualit movie as long as the origional film is in fair shape. I have captured low quality video from other sources and have created higher quality than the origional. So I am just starting with 8mm film and I have not found a good way to transfer at this point. keep in touch on progress jeff
