You have an extreme tele-zoom lens that is used to bring distant subjects closer. Most lenses in this range are slow, so you'll need to use a tripod to steady your camera. You might also consider using a high speed film such as ISO-800. Try using a smaller f-stop like f8 or slower to increase depth of field. Actually your lens is probably f8 or possibly slower at its largest f-stop as are most lenses in this range. You can adjust the f-stop to suit your d-o-f range and adjust the shutter speed to suit your meter. If it's bright out you may need to adjust to a smaller f-stop. Movement is very critical with such long lenses, so use a tripod.
