YUP !! I had the same problem.......And I got lucky and corrected mine!
You either put your battery in upside down and turned the unit on OR you got the pwr. supply and the serial plug backwards.
I got lucky by 1/. inserting a NEW battery right side up and holding the pwr button until the camera flashed once. Then I removed the battery and left the camera off for a day ( or long enough to cool down the dimera CPU.)
2/. install a new battery ....That's when mine took off and operated properly. P.S. If holding down the pwr button has no results, push it on and off until you see 1 of the leds blink. GOOD LUCK !
