We can't get the feed and uptake reels to move on our Bell & Howell Model LX20 movie projector. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

There is a small rubber clutch that drives both spools. It has more than likely deteriorated. You will find it at the end of a long shaft driven by the belt. The pieces are in the bottom of the projector. You may be able to fabricate a new one.
Editor's Note: You might also want to contact KMR Electronics in Santa Ana, California which services all Bell & Howell 16mm projectors manufactured between 1960 and 1986 and which bought the remaining parts supply from B&H when the company ceased manufacturing projectors. But understand that even a "new" rubber part is undergoing deterioration while it sits in storage unused.
