Here is what the "Minolta Users Group" says about the "Maxxum 7000":

SHUTTER: Vertical-travel metal ectronically-controlled focal plane type, speeds 30 sec. to 1/2000 sec., stepless in P and A modes, full-stop settings in M or S modes, flash sync at 1/100 sec.

You can log onto the Minolta User Site using the link below for information about Minolta camera equipment. The flash you're using (3500xi) wasn't designed to be used on the Maxxum 7000, so I don't know if that effects the shutter speed or not.
