When Canon started producing A-1 cameras, it was their top of the line system camera. As far as I know, Canon no longer produces M/F cameras, so you would have to settle for an A/F EOS model. I'm not familiar with the model designations in European countries, but I'd have the insurance company buy the best Canon model allowed. What I'm saying is that Canon really no longer has a replacement for the A-1.
