: Last year when I went to Europe I took my Nikon 35mm Em camera and while I was there purchased an albinar lens for it. After I returned to the states I tried to use the camera and it died. Now I have this len, bought for the purpose to get better shots of my daughter who is a goalkeeper. and nothing to use it with. Do you have any suggestions on what type of camera to buy that the lens would work? Thanks Michele
Michelle,
If you were otherwise happy with the EM you could repair it or if you no longer have it buy another one off ebay for $50-$75. You could buy a more up to date, more adjustable manual Nikon called the FM-10 ( I think) that is a low cost new camera sold by Nikon. It is not auto focus, just manual. Amuch more expensive model is one called the FM2 and now the FM3 but they are rugged and may be more than you want to spend. Other Nikon manuals that are available on ebay reasonably are the FE, FE-2 (FE-2 is pricey like the FM-2) or another less expensive but a stepabove the EM (and below the FE/FM class) is the FG. Be careful that someone does not talk you into a camera body that your lens won't work well with or that you have to pay a lot for but cannot use all its wonderful features due to a lack of electrical contacts on the lens.
