: : Does anyone know if i can replace the existing 45 mm lense to a 50 mm lense on my Yashica mg-1 camera? also i would like information on using black and white film. what do need to know about this to get great b/w photos.

well Cynthia ... my final answer is .. the lens is not interchangeble. Live with it or spend some $$ and upgrade. Yashica did make an auxilliary lens kit for the Electro 35 which is a very similar camera but they work work on the MG-1 because the meter "eye" was moved to within the filter ring on the MG and they won't screw on. I think that an upper end Pentax or Canon zoom Point and Shoot may be in order. They are easy to use, yield great results, have wide range zoom lenses and with careful shopping you should be able to pick up a model that suites your needs for $125 to $150.00 brand new.

Good luck, Ced
