I assume that your husband bought the camera WITHOUT a zoom (ie. say, with a 50mm f1.4 standard lens). If this is the case, your best choice would either be the 28-105mm AF-D, or the 24-85 AF-D, however the latter may be above your price range - I don't know the prices where you are.
Both of these are compatible with the F80 and will give a good 'standard' zoom range.
The only problem is if he bought the camera with a zoom similar to one of the above, and he simply wants a complimentary zoom in the telephoto range - maybe you could post what lens he already has?
