Deru, I take close ups all the time and have found the close up filter set to work just fine. I use a Sony which does good macro to start with then I add the CU filter as needed. Remember, you cannot zoom your camera in very much or you will not be able to get a focus. I also find it helps to set the camera in spot mode for better light control.
A polarizer is only good for outdoors and special lighting needs, no real value for indoor flash photos. -- Don

Don: Regarding your experience in close-ups with sony, perhaps you can help me.
I have a Sony S75 and need to take pictures of a 9mm spot 30mm away. I can make it with a wide zoom, but I want it bigger. If I get the +1 +2 +4 close up set, will I be able to focus the same spot on a narrower zoom? Regards, Ricardo
