: : : What would be the equivalent 35mm compact point and shoot camera to replace my stolen Ricoh TF-900

: : : I will appreciate any info you may give me on the subject.

: : You don't make it easy. You ask someone to recommend an equivalent 35mm compact camera to the Ricoh TF-900 but you don't share the camera's specs and features with us. And they are not on the web. The only thing I could determine was this model was mainly sold in the UK and Germany.

The TF-900 was sold in Canada, I bought it in the early nineties. It had two very sharp lenses, a 35mm f2.8 4 elements lens and a 70mm f5.6 8 elements lens in a flip/flop arrangement. At the time it was reviewed as "the most advanced auto compact" and various authorities said that its lenses were superlative.
Ricoh's cameras are not available in the USA but are very popular in Europe and Britain. So far I have not found any equivalent but the Leica Minilux Zoom comes close and the Ricoh GR1V is also close but it is a fixed 28mm f2.8 lens. Anyone has other suggestions.
