Body of Praktica MTL 5B, is the material plastic or metal?

A bit of both -- significantly more plastic and cheaper metal than the early L series Praktica cameras that production begun on in 1971. The top plates are thin on these cameras and don't take a lot of abuse without cracking. I've got an MTL5 with cracks in the top plate and a missing self timer, but it still works fine (except for the self timer). -- Best, John
Editor's Note: Camera manufacturers have gotten very adept at spraying plastic and polycarbonate shells with a metallic coating to make them appear to be solid metal. Drop most modern cameras and you'll need a dust pan to pick up the pieces.
