There are a number of things that can go wrong with a meter system. The K1000 is a fairly simple meter and has few problems. After checking all the obvious things like battery condition and making sure the battery contacts are clean and shiny, then you must assume it needs the abilities of a technician. Expect to pay $75 to $125 for a meter repair, it will depend on if parts are needed or not and the labor rate of the technician. It's a good camera and worth spending some repair dollars to keep it going.
