: I have 50 rolls of film I need to get developed (and not much money to do it)! Any ideas for what my best options are in terms of price vs. quality?

: I have 40 rolls of 36 exp. and 10 rolls of 24 exp. I have considered online places like Snapfish ($2.99/roll) but am worried about quality, and the same goes for mail-in labs like Clark Color. My local stores (Philadelphia) will charge roughly $10-12 per roll, which would really add up considering the amount of film I have.

Sending your film to Snapfish is the same as sending it to Clark Color Labs. Both are owned by District Photo which also owns York Photo Labs.

My advice is not to use a mail order lab for 50 rolls of film. Too much chance of film being lost by the postal service or lab.

If you can't negotiate a deal with a local mini-lab to process the rolls and provide an index print for each roll (which will allow you to select the frames you want printed) then take a few rolls at a time to a local processor like Walmart or Walgreen's. The film will never leave the building and won't be lost. Never take a large quantity of film to a lab all at the same time. Too much can go wrong.

Think of the money and time you have spent taking those pictures. Are they from a trip abroad, someone's wedding or the vacation of a lifetime? Why risk it all on cheap processing.
