I have an AE-1. I can take the first picture with one press of the shutter button, and the second and the third. When I get passed 3 clicks the camera won't take a picture. I have to press it down probably 7 or 8 times for the 4th- 6 th picture and after that forget it!. I can keep pressing and pressing until my finger hurts and I give up. Then if I shut the camera off and go back even a few minutes later the same process begins again. Is this as simple as a battery change? even though the guy I bought it from said he had just changed the battery? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Brad

This is a common occurance in the AE-1 series. Most likely
someone sold the last owner an Alkaline 6v battery. It simply
WON'T WORK !! It does not have enough power to operate the
camera. The alkaline was not even available when the camera was
designed. The original battery was made of silver oxide. More
recently there is a Lithium battery that works just great, I
recommend it over the silver oxide simply because it lasts
longer. NEVER use that awful alkaline substitute.
