>> I own a pair of Praktica Sport alpha 20x50 binoculars. I have recently started to use them after several months stored away, I've now found it impossible to balance both lenses, it has a permanent double image. To my knowledge the binoculars have not been dropped or knocked about. How do I resolve this problem. Regards, Ray Hamilton
Well Ray,
I think if you know it or not they have been whacked ! This
problem is almost always a misalignment of the prisms, having
them repaired will probably be more money than they are worth.

Ray, Look closely at the front lens barrels. They screw onto the front of the body. You may see some crossed threads. Try unscrewing the front group/barrels. Next, look under the front groups and see if the prisms looked knocked out of place. Sometimes they can be scooted back into place. The rear groups are harder to get to, but if the front ones are okay then it will most likely be the rear. Good luck Don
