: has anyone used the active transparency adaptor for a scanner. Mine is a scanjet 5200C. I have alot of slides to make into to pictures but for me to take them to a photo place they want to charge 1.19 each. I hope someone can help me.

If we are talking about the transparency adapter on a flatbed scanner, you won't be happy with the quality of 35mm scans. A 35mm slide is only 1" x 1-1/2" and even at the 600 dpi setting, this will produce a scan only a few inches larger than the original. That's why film scanners offer 1800dpi scans and higher. A photo lab will either scan the slide using a high resolution film scanner or they will make a conventional color print from it using type R paper (but that would be more expensive than $1.19.)

The Primefilm 1800U is an 1800dpi film scanner bundled with Silverfast Lite scanning software for $200 to $250 - it does an excellent job with scanning slides and black and white negatives.
