Internal repair should be left to professionals. The price of a repair manual will be at least 50% of your camera's value. Camera repair is labor intensive, and that's why it's so expensive. Craig Camera didn't even have a repair manual, so it will be hard to find.
Your camera would probably be worth less than $75 on the used market if it was in mint shape. The cost of repair would excede that. If there is a repair facility in your area, you might let them take a look at it. They may have a simple solution. Otherwise, you might want to open it up yourself. You won't have anything to lose.

I have a Praktica MTL3 (also in good condition). Same problem here too. I've already asked for some advice and found out that this was a common problem in the Praktica MTL series. I've opened the camera, 'poked around' a bit, and did some harm. Now, not only is the film winder still stuck, but the wires connecting the battery to some of the camera components (e.g. light meter) are also broken (they fell out as soon as I opened the lower part.. old I guess). If anyone has any experience with this series, please help me repair it. I'd hate to lose this camera. thanks, mishu
