If you are intent on buying a new Minolta Maxxum, please consider the HTsi over the STsi. Do a side by side comparison on Minolta's web site, and you'll see what I mean. The Maxxum STsi is going to limit your options comapared to the HTsi. The HTsi comes much closer to a pro level advanced SLR than the STsi. The STsi is just one step above the QTsi, which is nothing but a point & shoot A/F with an interchangeable lens.
The HTsi has a verticle control grip available, and will use Minolta's high-speed flash units at up to 1/4000 second. You also have multi-programs for complete control of exposures. The HTsi is priced really great for the features it has. The only downfall is that Minolta's standard "Silver Series" short zoom has below average ratings (standard for STsi & HTsi). Best bet would be to buy the body, and use present lenses or buy a different Minolta short zoom.
