I've repaired some of these. the offending mechanism is a geartrain and flywheel located on the right hand side of the mirror box. it can be reached from above with a long needle after removing the top cover, and requires a small amount of lubricant to fix it. unfortunately it's not easy to see where you're poking, and you don't want to just slather oil all over inside or you'll end up worse than you started.
i haven't seen an illustrated guide on the web, and i haven't published my own notes out of fear of being blamed when somebody ruins his camera.
