This is one of those questions, if you ask 5 different photographers. You might get 5 different answers.
I always used pastel roll paper backgrounds. However that was for bridal shots, 20 years ago. Tastes vary, and you'll probably want input from your customer. That's why so many different backgrounds are manufactured.
