In Reply to: Vivitar 283 with Konica FS-1 posted by Patrick on March 21, 2002 at 16:22:16:
: I have been reading about the Vivitar 283 having a high voltage. My 283 was made in Japan with a seriel # 584 3778. I'm using the Konica FS-1 and am wondering if this camera is considered an electronic camera. Will using this model of flash harm my FS-1?

Vivitar said that the 283 uses 350 volts. I wrote to a repair man and he said that the older 283 and 285 would be safe to use. Plus..had a reply from a man who has over 35 Konica's and said that he uses the Vivitar 283 on all of his Konica's. So I guess it will be safe to go ahead and use the Vivitar 283. I will give it a try.
