I'm interested in an SLR that I can use for family stuff and also while flying (I am a military pilot). Question is on how SLR autofocus is measured. Is it an infrared source? Will it work through glass/plexiglass canopy material, or will this throw off the metering? I'm considering the Canon ELAN 7 or 7E, and I've heard they don't have the traditional split prism in the center for fine focus, which might make manual focus a bit challenging (especially while flying ;) )
Any help/advise or other camera models would be appreciated....
Thanks,
Jeff
