off-camera flash cord

I have not had much luck finding the answer and hope someone can help. Can you tell me what off-camera flash cord I need to use a 540EZ on a A2 Canon? It is not listed in my manual and with the electronics involved I don't want to "fry" something. Thanks, Dennis Smith
