Memory backup battery for Canon T70

I have a Canon T70 and the Lithium battery for the memory backup to the LCD display has expired. The owners manual lists the type of battery (BR-1225 or CR-1220) but says to take the camera in to a service shop for replacement.
Could someone tell me where within the body of the camera the battery is located (which section to remove to gain access)?
And is it really that difficult to change that a service center would have to perform?
