From what I understand, automatic A/F cameras aren't the best choice for use with a telescope adapter. Make sure your camera is set at the manual exposure mode and that the focus switch is set on M/F.
If that doesn't help, you'll need to use a manual camera such as a Minolta SRT series or an X-series, like the Minolta X-370.
