M70 Kodak Super 8mm projector

Hi:

I'm converting old family movies to DVD using a Kodak m70 Instamatic projector. A piece of film is caught in front of the shutter and I can't figure out how to remove it. It appears there is someway of releasing the entire mechanism because I can see a spring loaded piece.

There must be a way of getting at this area because I'm sure this happens a lot. Without a manual I afraid of damaging the unit.
