Also, the pointed tip of the FED coupling mechanism is not as close to the edge of the lens mount as the roller cam of the original Leica design. Some lenses which have a rather thin rangefinder ring or cam will not meet the pointed tip exactly. The Canon f/1.2 50mm for example has a very thin ring which is very close to the lens thread and does not couple correctly.
