hi nick!

yes, with a few reservations Leica lenses will fit and couple correctly. the only problem is that in some of the 90-135mm lenses, leica's RF cam is a small brass piece extending back from the lens, and this can jam on the pointed tip of the follower in the body (the follower in Leicas has a roller on it). You can probably use these if you're careful to rack the lens out to its minimum focus limit for mounting (i use a 135 Hektor on a Fed and 2 Zorkis).

well, there is ONE other problem: cost. by far the best deal for the money in the M39 mount is the Russian lenses made for your camera (which can also be used on Leicas, Canons etc). the 35/2.8 Jupiter-12 is a copy (clone, actually, set up with Zeiss assistance) of the prewar Zeiss Biogon... one of the better 35mm RF lenses around and by far the best of its era. The 50mm Jupiters are good copies of Zeiss Sonnars, as are the 85/2.0 jupiter-9 and the 135 Jupiter-11. thee are all excellent lenses if they haven't been screwed up over the years by users or inept service people.
