: I have an intermittent fault on my Pentax K1000. Intermittently the light meter needle does not work and unfortunately this is now apparently defunct. Very occasionally it works fine but mostly - no movement. It is a new battery (tested) - any ideas how to fix it. I did suspect a bad electrical connection but have no clue how this works. Any help please mail me.
Before you do anything clean the battery contacts. Use a soft pencil eraser to clean them. Even a minute amount of corrosion can keep a battery from making good contact especially at such low current.
