: Problem: top 1/5 of picture is good - rest of picture (bottom) is black. First experienced this with 400 speed film so went to 200. I am now experiencing the same problem. Problem mostly occurs when taking pictures on the outside on sunny days. What my problem and can it be repaired cheap? A camera shop said it would cost alot of money to send it off and then it may not work. I have a cousin who has the same camera that sent his off and it cost him $100-$200 bucks and it still wasn't fixed. Do I just need to trash the camera and try to sell the lenses? All help appreciated as I bought the camera new in 1986 and really like it. Thanks

Sounds like a sticky mirror return problem, don't spend money on a 7000 get into a later body for the price of repairing what you got. Thats my 2 cents worth! (grin)
Regards and good luck Mikeb
