Thanks for the reply Don. When I insert a cardboard mounted slide into an 80-slide carousel and lower the slide into the projector, I manually focus the slide. This is using an Ektanar 102mm f2.8 C lens.
The slide looks sharp and stays sharp.
When I advance to the next slide, the slide looks out of focus for a second, then the autofocus motor starts working, then the slide moves into focus. The problem is that the slide keeps going beyond the "in focus" state and goes out of focus.
When I use the remote to manually adjust the focus back to normal, it won't stay. The auto-focus re-adjusts the focus to an out-of-focus state.
I have tried different lenses and different mounts. The only suggestion I have seen beyond this is to replace the bulb (which I did) because if the glazing around the bulb is cracked, stray light can leak out the side of the bulb and cause the auto-focus sensor to misread the slide.
My question, therefore, is: Is there a way to adjust the auto-focus sensor? An adjustment screw? Anyting?
Thanks.
