: I am looking for a replacement FG focus screen. I am not sure if it is still in production. I believe it is a k or k2 model. What is the difference between the two and are there other screens that can replace the one I have.
It is my understanding that focusing screens for the F model and for its successor the F2 are fully compatible. But have no precise idea on the FG. Surely someone at our nikonians community might be able to help.
As far as I remember, the "K" type of focusing screen is exactly like the "A" matte fresnel lens and the "J" microprism spot, except that it adds an split image central spot.
Have a great time :-)
