Several of Eastman Kodak's early models ca. 1898 were factory loaded with from 48 to 100 exposures. You sent the camera tp Kodak when you were finished and you got a reloded camera back with your pictures. Some one told me that the camera you got back was not necessarily the one you sent in. I have also heard that Kodak doesn't completely destroy the single use cameras but that they recycle a large portion.

: : : Fuji introduced the first disposable camera in 1986, thought the manufacturers like to use the term single-use instead of disposable. Kodak introduced their single use camera, the Fling, in 1987. Here is a link about disposables and the recycling that goes on, from the Kodak website:
