Sad though it sounds, I wouldn't bother. If you think something physically broke inside the camera, it would need a professional repair. Even a good repair facility might have problems finding parts for an early 1960s East German camera, and the engineer would have just as much work fixing your Praktica as he would with a $2000 Leica!
Unless your Praktica has great sentimental value, you could probably buy three replacement Novas for the price of fixing yours. There are three or four up on eBay right now for less than $40.
If you have a lot of M-42 lenses to fit your Nova, you might want to consider "upgrading" by looking for a more modern Praktica like the LTL or MTL range. There were plenty of good SLRs built around that screw thread - Pentax's Spotmatic, the Mirandas, Yashica TL Electro...
