Is there a better program, other than photobee, that would improve the quality of the picture I am exporting ?
I've installed the Twain driver, and should be able to import direct into PhotoShop, but the picture are still not as clear as I would have expected.

PhotoBee software is furnished with Argus digital cameras, and apparently also with the Praktica QD500 digital camera. PhotoBee appears to be a utility which facilitates transferring image files from the digital camera to your computer. Argus Industries fails to provide a clear explanation on their web site regarding the use and purpose of PhotoBee, except to note "The programs which come with the DC100 or DC2000 are not able to eliminate RED Eye. You can remove RED EYE using programs such as Adobe Photo Deluxe or Printshop." This statement strongly suggests that PhotoBee is seriously limited in features. (see the following page for details http://www.arguscamera.com/tech_supp/camoper.htm ) Pentacon in Germany (Praktica) has never acknowledged they even market consumer digital cameras under the Praktica brand name. (Maybe that's because they don't actually make the cameras.)
You don't provide enough information to explain what is wrong with your digital pictures. What do you mean by "improve the quality"? The specifications for the Argus digital camera line suggest the cameras would be best used for web and monitor use, not for quality printing. None exceed 1 meg. What are the image sizes for the Praktica? Yes, there are many image programs which could improve the raw .bmp images you mention in another message. You could ask a friend who has Adobe Photoshop or Adobe PhotoDeluxe, or someone with JASC's Paint Shop Pro or Micrografx Picture Publisher to see if they could improve your raw image files. Many things from unsharp masking to adjusting the brightness and contrast will improve an image.
