I'm afraid it really is an expensive business. I looked into this
problem a while back for my father-in-law's T-70, and it involves
a partial disassembly. Another good reason to cherish the older
SLRs...
40 pounds sounds about right - one German dealer quoted me DM 120, which is about the same. Might be cheaper to pick up a good used AE-1, if you can live without the bells and whistles. They were built of sterner stuff!
Since the T-90 is basically just an up-gunned T-70, your next expensive problem will be failure of the built-in motor. It will jam up halfway through a roll on you. Unfortunately we now live in the age of cameras with expiry dates! -- Mike
