Hi
I am interested in buying a Tamron 70-300 lens. I have read somewhere tele-converters do not work well with zoom lenses. Is this true for all zoom lenses? Or just AF zooms? I am just a beginner, so this may seem like a silly question.
Any help will be greatly apprecicated! Thanks in advance.
Editor's Note: I don't know about the specific issues of teleconverters when used with zoom lenses or autofocus zooms but generally images produced using teleconverters are not as sharp or as contrasty as those produced using camera lenses alone. Additionally, a 2x teleconverter will cost you some light so using a tripod will be almost mandatory.
You'll also benefit from visiting Klaus Schroiff's Photo Zone which offers independent information on lens performance, users' lens reviews, camera system evaluations and much more.
