You may want to visit the Photographyreview.com site. There are reviews about most widely used 35mm cameras there, including classic manuals and modern automatics.
The reviews are written by people who have bought and used the cameras you may be considering. Of course, there may be some horn tooting there, when it comes to describing their cameras, but if you read the reviews carefully, you may be able to pick up some valuable information about the pros and cons of different cameras.
