The self-timer button is on the left side (viewing from rear), it has three modes displayed on the cover. In order to put the camera in the self-timer mode you have to hold down the button on the left side and rotate the selector knob next to the shutter release button.You will know when it's in the self-timer mode because you will see a timer symbol in the display. The other modes are single frame and multiple frame.
