Good Day Syro,
The problem is either due to deteriorated light seals (mirror cushion) or a dragging second curtain. In either case I'd recommend repair by a trained camera technician. If the light seals are that deteriorated and or the curtain is dragging that badly your camera is most certainly in need of a full overhaus and not a simple user repair. Take the camera to your local service center or we'd be glad to provide an estimate.
Sincerely,
Dave Marsh

: it seems that randomly when i try to take a photograph with my pentax k1000 slr camera that the mirror stays up, rendering the viewfinder completely useless for a few frames of film. is there any way i can repair this myself? i can't afford to have a professional repair it. this only happens once in a while, and i don't know what is causing it. any help would be greatly appreciated ;)
