I had a Canon AE-1 for 20 some years until it was stolen in
Mexico and never had a problem with it. It was a real reliable
camera and was with me from Canada to Mexico to Europe, as well
as every event of our family and the kids growing up. It is a
good camera to start out with as well as later on for a semi-pro.
To answer your question on where to find one, try looking in the
backs of photography magazines under used equipment. I see many
listed in the $150US range with the shape the camera is in also
listed
