: Ok, I have had some experience taking photos, primarily with point-and-shoot models but some with a Minolta 35mm SLR. My delemma is this: I am serious about photography and am considering persuing it as either a career or side job. This will be my first camera, and I need some help deciding. The Canon EOS Rebel 2000 looks great, but I have also been told to check into the Nikon N60, and N70. I can get a full, new Rebel 2000 kit for 399.00. Should I go with this camera, and then use the manual options as I learn about them? Please, no "brand loyalty" or anything, I really need help. Thank you for your time and suggestions.
if your serious about it, then forget about the rebel. stores have been pushing it alot lately, but it is very cheaply made. buy a nikon n70 or, even better, the n80 which is coming out in spring
