: This question has probably been asked here at this board before but I need the advise. I've read very good reviews for the new Rebel and some so-so for the Nikon but need other opinions.
You can find reviews for both cameras at
PhotographyREVIEW.com. The reviews are posted by the camera
owners. There
are currently 27 reviews of the Canon and it has an averaged
rating of 4.33 out of a possible 5. The N60 has 21 reviews and a
rating of 4.10. You can read the individual reviews for more
details.
Ramon is probably right about the N60 being unfairly judged
for it's lack of one feature. However, Canon is often noted for
being very user friendly for the beginner. You should definitely
get them both in your hands to find out which is best for you.
The camera that makes you want to handle it and use it is the
best camera for you. For some it's a Nikon and for others it's a
Canon or even a Polaroid. Buy what inspires you.
Good luck,
