You did not mention which one of the Canon Sure Shot models that received the impact damage, so it's difficult to give detailed information. But in general we use 50% of replacement value as the maximum price recommended to pay for repair of equipment. So assuming it can be repaired for $75.00 and the camera's replacement cost is over $150.00 then repair is probably the best course of action.

: I have a Canon Sure Shot that is displaying an E on the LCD every time I turn it on. It was dropped about 6 inches. and worked O.K. for about 3 or 4 more pictures and then just quit. When you take the battery out and then put it back in, it acts like it will work for about 20 seconds, then just quits. Does anyone know what could help? I'd really rather not pay about $75 to get it fixed because I don't think that it is worth that much.
